LZ experiment

The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment, a dark matter detector operating deep underground in South Dakota, has produced a surprising result in its search for dark matter particles. Details of the finding are drawing attention from physicists, who are weighing whether the signal points to new physics beyond known particle models or is merely an anomaly within expected background noise.
