Kyiv plans to begin constructing several backup crossings over the Dnipro River next week, including pontoon bridges that could be used if existing bridges are damaged. City official Kalashnyk said the move is a precaution, and authorities are also considering building a tunnel under the river for longer-term resilience of transport links in the capital.
