A new paper has been authored by a group of prominent former Canadian officials: ex-federal cabinet minister Perrin Beatty, onetime ambassador Jonathan Fried, former trade negotiator John Weekes, and Brian Clow, previously deputy chief of staff to the prime minister. The combination of senior political, diplomatic and trade expertise suggests the paper addresses Canada's relations with Europe.
