Hudson Pear

The Hudson Pear (Cylindropuntia pallida), a deceptively attractive cactus, is an invasive species in Australia. Its barbed spines injure and can kill wildlife and livestock, and its tough, easily spread nature makes it very difficult to control. The plant is drawing attention as awareness spreads about the ecological threat it poses to Australian grazing land and native animals.
