Hendrix Lapierre

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Hendrix Lapierre is in line for an expanded role after fellow forward Ben Kindel went down with an injury. With Kindel sidelined, Lapierre is expected to get the chance to step into the lineup and fill the gap, giving the young centre an opportunity to prove himself at the NHL level.

Hendrix Lapierre has made the Pittsburgh Penguins out of training camp and is skating as the team's third-line center. The former Washington Capitals prospect appears to have earned an NHL role in Pittsburgh heading into the new season. Hockey fans in the US and Canada, where the story is trending near the top of search, are discussing what his promotion means for the Penguins' depth down the middle.
