Hainault

The feast day of Saint Badilo is being observed today. Badilo was a 9th-century monk at Vézelay Abbey in Burgundy who later became Abbot of Leuze in Hainault, in present-day Belgium. Posts marking the day point travellers to sites in the region connected to his life, linking medieval religious history with heritage tourism in Belgium and France.
