Gorinchem

In Gorinchem, the municipality and the grid operator are planning to build an electricity transformer house inside a neighbourhood playground. Local residents are unhappy with the decision, arguing that the play area should remain available for children. Dutch outlet AD reports on the objections, and the case has drawn attention as an example of tensions between energy grid expansion and local public space.
