The Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA) has been named a recipient of the 2026 Right Livelihood Award, often called the 'alternative Nobel Prize'. The human rights organisation, long active in defending rule of law and civil liberties in Georgia, is being recognised as concerns grow over democratic backsliding and pressure on civil society in the country.
