GYLA

The Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA), one of Georgia's oldest human rights organisations, has been named a recipient of the 2026 Right Livelihood Award, often called the 'alternative Nobel Prize'. The award recognises GYLA's decades of work defending the rule of law, free courts and civil liberties in Georgia, where rights groups have faced mounting pressure amid political turmoil.
