Ravinia Festival, the summer music festival outside Chicago, has received a $38 million gift designated for its Martin Theatre. The donation, reported by OperaWire, is one of the larger recent gifts to a US performing arts venue and will support the theatre that hosts the festival's chamber and opera programming. The festival has not yet detailed how the funds will be used.

Covington, Kentucky will debut its new Entertainment Destination Center during the BLINK festival running October 8-11. The designation creates a pedestrian-friendly zone designed to support outdoor events, street activity, and local businesses in the city's entertainment district. Launching the center alongside BLINK, the region's large light-and-art festival, is intended to showcase the setup at a moment of heavy foot traffic.

The Festival of Arts is marking its 30th anniversary with an expanded celebration at Downtown Summerlin in Las Vegas this October.
