Feeding Wisconsin

Feeding Wisconsin hosted a community discussion in La Crosse focused on food insecurity, holding the event ahead of the election. The talk brought attention to hunger issues across the state and how policy choices may affect access to food, giving residents and local leaders a chance to raise concerns before voters head to the polls.

Rebecca Cooke, running against Republican incumbent Derrick Van Orden in Wisconsin's congressional race, said Van Orden backed out of a scheduled debate. Van Orden denied that claim, saying he had not withdrawn. The conflicting statements have become a flashpoint in the closely watched race, with each side accusing the other of misrepresenting the debate arrangements.
