Extreme Africa

A United Nations official has called for increased funding to help the Horn of Africa prepare for the impacts of El Nino, which threatens to bring extreme weather to a region still recovering from years of drought. The appeal comes amid fears of flooding and further food insecurity across countries including Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia.

A wildlife documentary titled 'Extreme Africa' is drawing large audiences with its look at how animals fight to survive across two contrasting worlds on the African continent. The film follows species caught between wild habitats and human-dominated landscapes, highlighting the daily struggles for food, territory and survival that define life there.
