Extremadura

Spain has started its olive harvest, with Extremadura forecasting 97,300 tonnes of olive oil for the new campaign. Meanwhile, extra virgin olive oil prices remain broadly stable, with only slight fluctuations at origin in Jaén and little change on supermarket shelves at chains such as Mercadona, Carrefour, Consum, Alcampo, Dia and Eroski. Consumers continue tracking daily price updates after recent seasons of high prices.
