EU Civil Protection Mechanism

An EU-funded civil protection exercise has brought together 235 first responders from six countries in Romania. The drill, run under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism with support from the European Commission's humanitarian aid department, is designed to test cross-border coordination and emergency response capacity. Such multinational exercises help participating teams practise working together on disaster response, reinforcing Europe's preparedness for major emergencies.
