- 1Writer draws link between Community and My Dinner with Andre▼"Community" reminds me of "My Dinner with Andre". # 111Words # Community # JoelMcHale # DannyPudi # PulpFiction # Quenti
A new essay on the 111 Words blog compares the American sitcom Community, starring Joel McHale and Danny Pudi, with Louis Malle's 1981 conversation film My Dinner with Andre, with additional nods to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. The piece argues that the NBC comedy shares unexpected DNA with the acclaimed two-hander about two friends talking over dinner, even borrowing its premise in a well-known episode. It is a lighthearted film-and-television comparison rather than breaking news.
