The United Nations has decided to continue its investigation into the Chavista government in Venezuela, in what is being described as a diplomatic defeat for Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. Caracas had sought to end or limit international scrutiny, but the UN's fact-finding probes into human rights abuses will press on, drawing attention to the government's ongoing isolation and accountability efforts.
