Campeche

A fire broke out at the Abkatun platform in the Campeche Sound, one of Pemex's key offshore oil production areas in Mexico. The state oil company says there are no injured workers following the incident. The event is drawing attention because of Abkatun's history of major accidents, including a deadly 2015 fire at the same facility.
