Space-based solar company Virtus Solis has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Brae Systems to deliver 250 MW of baseload clean power harvested from orbit. The deal, announced via press release, is being billed as a landmark for space solar, a technology that collects sunlight in orbit and beams it to Earth, and would represent one of the first long-term commercial commitments to orbital energy at scale.
