Bampur

Two police officers were killed when gunmen attacked a patrol in Bampur, in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province. Reports describe the assailants as linked to Iran's enemies, though no group has been confirmed. The province, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, has seen recurrent attacks on security forces, and Iranian officials frequently attribute such strikes to armed separatist or militant groups operating in the region.
