New research from BNNVARA shows that people in the Netherlands ate less meat last year, continuing a downward trend in national meat consumption. The findings add to ongoing debate in the Netherlands about diets, animal welfare, climate impact and the future of the livestock sector.

Dutch broadcaster Bnnvara aired its Sunday evening programme featuring presenter Floortje Dessing, alongside Owen O'Brien, Stefan de Vries and Kamran Ullah. The line-up drew renewed attention to Dessing, the well-known Dutch travel presenter, as viewers in the Netherlands tuned in and searched for more about her appearance on the show.
