Avondale

A sudden dust storm swept through a market in Avondale, Arizona, blowing away vendors' tents. Footage from the scene showed canopies and stalls tumbling in strong winds as people scrambled to secure goods and shelter. There were no immediate reports of serious injuries. Local viewers are sharing the dramatic video as the storm arrived with little warning.

A new local social media platform is being rolled out in Chicago in phases, starting with five pilot communities: Evanston, Avondale, Bronzeville, Edgewater/Andersonville and South Shore. The initiative, reported by the Evanston RoundTable, aims to build neighborhood-focused online spaces, and residents in the pilot areas are expected to get access first as the launch expands.
