A new report from research firm SemiAnalysis argues that Huawei and DeepSeek are closing the gap with Nvidia's AI chip ecosystem. According to the report, DeepSeek's recent software releases and testing on Huawei's Ascend 950PR chips show the two Chinese firms leaning on each other, with DeepSeek likely relying mainly on Huawei's hardware and software stack rather than Nvidia's, signalling growing Chinese self-sufficiency in AI computing.
