Alibaba has launched Qwen Intelligence as a full-stack agentic AI platform designed for smartphones. The platform is positioned to let phone makers run AI agents that can handle tasks on a user's behalf, extending Alibaba's Qwen model family beyond cloud services and into on-device mobile experiences. Coverage so far frames it as Alibaba's push to compete in the fast-moving smartphone AI space, where Google, Apple and Chinese rivals are also racing to embed assistants.

Apple has released LensVLM-9B, an artificial intelligence model designed to read and understand compressed documents. The release suggests Apple is expanding its work in document-focused vision-language systems, and details about the model's capabilities and availability are now circulating among AI watchers. Further information on benchmarks, licensing and intended use was not immediately available.

A leak suggests Apple's next Apple TV 4K will use an A19 chip with 8GB of RAM, enough power to run Apple Intelligence features. If accurate, the updated streaming box would bring on-device AI capabilities to Apple's living-room hardware for the first time, though Apple has not confirmed any of the reported specifications.
