American red wolf

Three American red wolf pups born in St. Louis have been transported from the city to a wild habitat as part of efforts to rebuild the critically endangered species' wild population. The move marks a rare and delicate step in conservation breeding programs, which raise the pups with minimal human contact before releasing them to support the struggling wild population.
