cloud storage

A question raised in the developer community asks whether AI agents should be allowed to access cloud files under least-privilege permissions. The discussion touches on how to scope agent access to storage safely, and what safeguards are needed to prevent overreach. Commenters are weighing security trade-offs of letting automated agents read and write cloud documents.

A discussion of orbital data centers — the idea of shifting cloud computing infrastructure into space — is drawing attention. The concept, promoted by space industry players and examined by bodies like the ITU, would place compute and storage on satellites powered by uninterrupted solar energy, easing terrestrial energy demands. Supporters see a route around data center power and cooling limits; skeptics point to launch costs, radiation, and maintenance challenges.
