University of Washington Medicine has launched a program dedicated to 'skin of color', addressing gaps in medical textbooks and training where dermatological conditions are often illustrated and described only on lighter skin. The initiative aims to improve diagnosis and care for patients with darker skin tones by teaching clinicians how conditions actually present across different skin colors.
