Wool

A gardening column from north central Ohio reports that hemlock woolly adelgids, invasive insects that feed on eastern hemlock trees, are being found as pests in the region. The column, 'A Stroll Through the Garden,' highlights the threat these small, wool-covered insects pose to hemlocks, which they can kill within years by sucking sap from the trees' needles and branches.
