Restaurant technology company Toast has expanded its retail platform to support fuel payments, allowing fuel and convenience retailers to process payments for gasoline and other fuel purchases through its system. The move extends Toast's reach beyond restaurants into the convenience and fuel retail market, where operators have been modernising point-of-sale technology to handle forecourt transactions alongside in-store sales.

Toast has launched Toast Fuel, a new platform designed to unite fuel payments, retail sales, and foodservice operations in a single system for convenience stores. The product aims to help fuel and convenience retailers manage transactions across pumps, stores, and food counters, reflecting the restaurant technology company's push beyond its core restaurant customers into the broader convenience retail market.
