Telephone World

A collection of recordings made by Evan Doorbell, an enthusiast who documented the American telephone network of past decades, is being shared via the Telephone World site. The tapes capture dial tones, switching equipment and long-distance calls from an era before digital telecoms, and are drawing fresh attention from listeners nostalgic for old phone technology.
