StandBy mode

Apple's new Home Hub is said to draw on the StandBy mode introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro's always-on display pairing, adapting the glanceable clock, widgets and controls layout for a dedicated home device. The report, picked up by MacRumors, suggests Apple is unifying its smart-home interface language with features familiar from its phones.

Apple's rumored smart home hub will reportedly offer selectable display faces, some closely resembling the StandBy screens planned for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Leaker 'pdfu' shared setup screens of a Photo Face said to be part of the device, suggesting the hub echoes the iPhone's lock-screen-style interface.
