Southern Bridge

Kyiv was hit by a fresh wave of Russian drone attacks, with strikes reported near the Southern bridge over the Dnipro, prompting its closure. Local media said a drone may have hit the bridge while a metro train was crossing. Authorities reported three people killed in the capital and a child killed in the Kyiv region. Russian outlets framed the strikes as targeting crossings over the river, while Ukrainian outlets reported casualties and transport disruption.

Russia has begun using jet-powered drones to attack Ukrainian bridges, carrying out several strikes on the Southern Bridge across the Dnipro in Kyiv. The bridge is described as one of Ukraine's key transport arteries, handling significant cargo traffic. The use of faster, jet-powered drones against critical infrastructure marks an escalation in attacks on Ukraine's logistics network.
