Milan Malpensa airport has been officially named after Silvio Berlusconi, the late former Italian prime minister and media tycoon who died in 2023. The renaming honours one of Italy's most influential and polarising political figures, and reactions have been divided between tribute and criticism of his legacy.

Silvio Berlusconi reportedly planned a large-scale Broadway-style musical about his own life, according to image consultant Pasquale Gasparotti. He says Berlusconi asked for maximum secrecy about the project, which already had scenography prepared, and that the former Italian premier saw himself as a 'prince charming' figure at the centre of the show.
