In Marinaleda, a village of about 2,600 people in Seville province, Spain, resident Pilar Prieto has paid less than 20 euros a month in rent for her house for 33 years. The story is circulating widely as an example of the village's long-running cooperative housing model, at a time when housing costs are a major concern across Spain and Europe.

The Three Cultures Foundation, based in Seville, is promoting the Andalusian model of coexistence between Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities as a response to growing polarisation across the Mediterranean region. The initiative highlights Spain's historical experience of pluralism as a diplomatic and cultural reference point for dialogue efforts.
