Ceuta, the Spanish autonomous city on the North African coast bordering Morocco, is drawing renewed attention. The territory has long been at the center of disputes between Madrid and Rabat over border controls, migration pressures, and its political status, with debates in Spain often reigniting over its future and relations with Morocco.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations have spread across several Moroccan cities, with protesters demanding that Rabat end its diplomatic normalisation with Israel. The rallies come as Morocco continues to deepen ties with Tel Aviv, a relationship formalised under the 2020 Abraham Accords. Demonstrators are calling for a shift in government policy amid anger over the war in Gaza.
