PS6

A former PlayStation chief has said Sony should postpone the launch of its next console, the PS6, for as long as possible. The comments, reported by Metro, have sparked discussion among gamers about what the statement means for the future of the console business and how long the current PS5 generation might last.

The September 30, 2026 edition of the radio program Flashpoints, hosted by Dennis J. Bernstein on KPFA, aired under the title 'Priests against genocide'. The segment highlights clergy speaking out against what the program characterises as genocide, and it is being shared among listeners focused on human rights, public media and left-leaning political commentary.

Reports claim the chips expected to power Sony's next PlayStation and Microsoft's next Xbox, codenamed Project Helix, have taped out — meaning their designs have been finalized and sent to a fab for manufacturing. Taping out is a major milestone that suggests both consoles are progressing toward release, though launch timing, performance targets, and pricing remain officially unconfirmed by either company.
