Neeru Dhanda

The 2026 Asian Games in Japan are in full swing, with India's medal count a major focus for fans. India's women's recurve archery team beat China 5-1 to reach the final, and India will also face China in the hockey final. Neeru Dhanda won shooting gold days after being hospitalised, ending a 48-year drought, while the women's 4x400m relay team also took gold. Despite a steady haul of medals, India remained outside the top ten as golds proved hard to come by.
