My Random Thoughts

The 170th instalment of the long-running 'My Random Thoughts' column has been published, covering a familiar mix of topics: sports, television, music, food and everyday life. The series is known for its casual, grab-bag format rather than a single focus. No single story from this edition has broken out on its own.

Martha Stewart is urging gardeners to stop 'randomly planting' everything, advising a more deliberate approach to what goes in the ground. The lifestyle mogul's gardening guidance, published via Homes and Gardens, calls for planning and intention rather than scattering plants without thought. Stewart has long been an authority on home and garden living, so her advice on planting strategy is drawing attention from hobbyist gardeners and design enthusiasts alike.
