Iran has executed Majid Nikandish and Ali Hemati-Sistani, two men arrested during the January protests, by hanging in Mashhad. The executions were reported by the group Iran Human Rights, which documents capital punishment in the country. The men were put to death in connection with their alleged participation in the protests, adding to concerns over the treatment of demonstrators.
