Large protests are under way at Lovely Professional University in Punjab after the alleged rape and murder of a student on campus. Posts circulating widely accuse authorities of a weak response and ask whether national opposition parties and top officials will demand accountability, arguing the case would draw far more outrage if it happened elsewhere in India.

A claim circulating on social media alleges that two female students were murdered at Chitkara University in Punjab, and that the case has received no coverage from national or Punjabi news outlets. The post compares it to an apparent incident at Lovely Professional University, suggesting media silence on campus deaths. No official statement from the university or police is cited in the claims, so the details remain unverified.
