The Knoppix Linux distribution is celebrating its 26th birthday. Based on Debian and created by Klaus Knopper, it was one of the first Linux systems that could boot directly from CD and later USB drives, letting users try Linux without installing it. Community members are praising it as a historic part of open-source software and thanking Knopper and the Knoppix community for their contributions to free software.
