Microsoft is expanding its commitment to the Rust programming language, according to an InfoWorld report circulating among developers. The move signals continued adoption of Rust for safer, memory-efficient systems code at the company, and programmers are discussing what deeper Rust integration could mean for Windows tooling and the broader shift away from C and C++ in industry infrastructure.

InfoWorld reports on JDK 27, the next version of the Java Development Kit, describing the current development phase as 'the quiet before the storm'. Beyond the headline, no details about new features, timelines, or changes in the release are available, so the substance of the discussion remains unclear.
