Hubble

NASA has issued a call for proposals on how to save the Hubble Space Telescope, which has been gradually losing altitude in orbit. The agency is inviting outside ideas — from companies, researchers and the public — on ways to boost the telescope to a higher orbit or otherwise extend its life. The news is drawing wide attention among space enthusiasts, with debate over whether private spacecraft could realistically service the aging observatory.
