Faraday's chairman has warned that moving too quickly to cut China out of the United States robotics supply chain could backfire, arguing that an abrupt separation risks disrupting production and raising costs faster than US industry can adapt. The comments, made in an exclusive interview with Yahoo Finance, add to the ongoing debate in Washington over how quickly to reduce American dependence on Chinese components for advanced manufacturing and robotics.

Faraday Future has announced a strategic transformation into a robotaxi and EAI cabin technology operator and a physical AI investment holding company. The company plans to combine its robotics business at an approximate $200 million valuation with AIxC, to be renamed FFR, for a standalone listing. The move marks a major shift in strategy for the struggling electric vehicle maker as it seeks new growth in artificial intelligence.

Faraday Future's robotics subsidiary, FF EAI Robotics, has implemented an equity incentive plan covering roughly 25% of its equity. The move is aimed at attracting and retaining talent as the company builds out its robotics business. Details on eligibility, vesting terms and which employees are covered have not yet been disclosed.
