Boeing has reportedly won a contract worth more than $20 billion to develop the US Navy's F/A-XX next-generation fighter aircraft. The award would make Boeing a central player in the Navy's future carrier-based air combat program, competing concept in a market long dominated by Lockheed Martin. Details on timeline and scope remain limited pending official confirmation from the Navy and the company.
