Expel

In Bihar, JDU leader Anant Singh was expelled from Nitish Kumar's party and responded by saying he would form his own party and that Nitish was finished. Nitish Kumar visited Lalan Singh amid the Anant controversy, with a bigger decision expected. Separately, Bihar tightened security for Durga Puja with loudspeaker restrictions and a DJ ban, while a migrant worker was shot dead during the Dashera holidays.
