Doha

Ministers from Africa's least developed countries have concluded a regional midterm review of the Doha Programme of Action, calling for accelerated implementation of commitments on development, trade and support for the world's most vulnerable economies. The review assessed progress halfway through the decade-long UN agenda and urged renewed international action to keep targets on track.

Doha's Asian Games organisers have indicated they are willing to move the event to 2031 if that helps it serve as a qualifying competition for the Olympic Games. The proposal would shift the multi-sport event from its current schedule, aligning it with the Olympic cycle and giving Asian athletes a route to secure their places at the Games. Details on the decision and timing have not been confirmed.
