The International Organization for Migration reports that displaced people from Sudan's Darfur region are crossing into Chad to escape ongoing fighting. The agency also documented the displacement of more than two thousand people from El Fasher toward Tawila in recent days, driven by deteriorating security conditions in the area.

The UN arms embargo on Darfur is due to expire on Saturday and would need to be renewed by the UN Security Council. At least 35 people were killed in Darfur, Sudan, when a drone attacked a court assembly, according to a rights group cited in the report. The group blames the army for the strike. The attack comes amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which has repeatedly hit civilian gatherings and infrastructure.
