Caddy

A new golf column by Japanese golf legend Yuri Fudo examines how tour players work with their caddies, arguing that responsibility on the course rests fundamentally with the player herself. The piece reflects on the trust and division of roles between veteran golfers and their caddies. Readers in Japan's golf community are discussing the insights from a retired champion's perspective.

Golf Digest highlights caddies across clubs in the British Isles who are themselves members of the courses where they work. The piece, riffing on Walt Whitman's 'O Captain! My Captain!', examines this longstanding tradition in Britain and Ireland, where club members commonly carry bags for fellow golfers, a practice that contrasts with caddie culture elsewhere in the golfing world.
