Montana wildlife officials euthanized 14 bears that had become food-conditioned and were repeatedly gathering at a home near Bozeman. The culling reflects the consequences of bears learning to associate people with food, a persistent management challenge in the Greater Yellowstone region, where black bears and grizzlies often raid unsecured garbage, pet food and other attractants near residential properties.
