The claim, reported by Haaretz, suggests back-channel contacts between the US-led oversight body and an organization Israel has sought to sideline. The meeting's agenda and outcomes remain unclear, and officials have not publicly confirmed it.

The UN's humanitarian chief has said preventing a third world war is now the organisation's top priority, pointing to militarised artificial intelligence and climate change as key risks. Hamas has accused the Board of Peace of aligning with Israel after the body excluded UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, from its operations in Gaza.
